My cat's ear is crusty and red after a fight. How to soothe it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 9 years and 4 months old

My cat was in a fight with my other cat. She now has 1 crusty/scabby ear. Is there anything I can soothe it with? It is red towards the outside of the ear. I was bathing it in betadine which stopped a big sore happening near her eye

If the area is scabby, it means it's healing so I would leave it be as any treatment can interrupt the healing process. Keep an eye on it, and if you see signs of infection (redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, pus), then I would take Mia into the vet. Best of luck.
