My 1-year-old Chihuahua lost a tooth. Is a vet visit necessary?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 5 lbs

I found a tiny tooth believed to be from my one year old full blood chi. He is nuetered and acting fine. Looked all in his mouth. No swelling or anything. Looks like it may have been a back tooth and he has some teeth growing in from the gums. Should i make a vet appt?

I do recommend to make an appointment with your veterinarian. Take the tooth in with you as well. Chihuahuas are a breed that is prone to dental disease. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
