My cat is suddenly aggressive, yowling, and eating less. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Male | 2 years and 7 months old | 12 lbs

My siamese Okie had recently been acting listless, eats with less gusto but still eats, wanders around the house yowling more than usual, has been making more of an attempt to steal veggies, we had to baby proof all the cupboards, and has started getting grumpy with the yearling kittens. He will walk across the room to swat them hiss growl and have a tissy fit. Is there something I can try to get him back to normal?

Okie is gorgeous! Having a physical exam and screening bloodwork and a fecal exam and urinalysis to rule out a medical cause for his crankiness such as an ear infection, diabetes, kidney/liver issues, hyperthyroidism etc. would he best. Using a Feliway mulicat calming pheromone plug -in several rooms in your home along with daily VetriScience Composure chews or oral liquid may help significantly with stress related aggression /inappetance. Both of these products are available without a prescription on chewy.com and PetCo.com. Good luck!
