Why won't my cat eat? Could she be sick or depressed after a change?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

Hi, I have recently started college in another state which means I had to leave my 5 year old cat at home with my family. She has known them and was okay with them until about 3 weeks ago when she stopped eating. She usually enjoys her cat food (we give her hard food regularly but soft food once a day ) but lately she won't eat anything and we have tried changing brands but she'll just take a few bites and then turn away. I have read many articles and I'm not sure if she is sick or depressed

Hi, I personally think depression would be more transient and would have happened earlier not after settling so I would recommend to have her checked over. Hope this helps and it is nothing too serious.
