Can my indoor cat get a parasite hole under its arm after a fight?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | neutered | 6 lbs

I found this under my cats underarm. There’s a hole with fur missing around. When looking it up, I found it could be Cuterebra. A common parasite in cats. He’s an indoor cat. Can he still get this? My other cat and this one got in a fight around 3 days ago. There was some fur missing, when I looked at them both I noticed nothing. What can this be?

If your cats have been in a fight recently, this could be due to the fight. When cats fight, they bite, and those bites frequently become infected and lead to abscesses. You need to take Kitty Kitty into the vet first thing in the morning. Best of luck.
