Why is my new chinchilla lethargic and not eating after moving?

Hi cita has been acting weird she has been still all day I have forced her 20mg of crushed alfalfa pellet and water through a syringe since then she has moved a little and had a small poo she had previously not eaten all day but she is still really still and doesn't want to move at all I have rubbed her belly to help with gas she has helped a couple of times at being touched on her belly she was bought a few days ago she has had a slight change in diet and a big change in atmosphere

Thanks for reaching out about Cita and including photos. Decreased appetite and lethargy are general signs of illness, and not specific for any illness. A veterinary visit is recommend to assist in a diagnostic and treatment plan. Providing water via a syringe might help with dehydration. An ingested foreign body, dental disease, metabolic disorders (liver, renal) are a few of the possibilities. Good luck.
