Why is my guinea pig breathing hard, not eating, and pooping a lot?

My guinea pig makes the “hooting” noise in a way that sounds like he has a hard time breathing. He also hasn’t eaten in a day and he’s been pooping more than normal. Pet's info: Small Animal | Guinea Pig | Male | unneutered | 2.6 lbs

Thanks for reaching out about Rocky. The described noise is likely a respiratory infection and he is feeling poor enough to stop eating. He needs to see a veterinarian to aid in diagnosis and treatment of the problem. Antibiotics are probably needed at the minimum. As this sounds serious, the sooner the better chance for recovery.
