My dog's eye is bleeding after play, but he shows no pain. Vet needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Shiba Inu | Male | neutered | 1 year and 3 months old | 21 lbs

He got hit in the face during playtime, and now he is bleeding into his eye. He didn't give any signs of pain and continued to play vigorously for some time. He has shown no signs of discomfort, isn't squinting and seems to still be able to see out of the eye. I just want to make sure I don't need to bring him in.

This is not going to cause any problem and will resolve with time in the next 2 weeks. If there are no other lesions in the eye or anywhere else I would not be worried. Normal monitoring for signs of discomfort like squinting and excessive discharge is needed but other course of action is necessary.
