Changing cat's feeding area: How to avoid stress and refusal to eat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I'm planning to change my cat's feeding area in some apparent reasons. But I'm worried that they might feel different or uncomfortable and won't eat the cat food since they have been eating in the same area for almost a year. How would I change their feeding area without making them stress?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your cats. I would start by adding food to the new area while still keeping food available in the original area. Then gradually decrease the food offered in the old area while increasing the amount in the old area. You can take a week or two to make the transition. I hope this information helps!
