hi! i took my 8lb yorkie to the vet today to get his vaccinations, he always acts very sore and doesn’t move much after shots. i mentioned that to the vet today and he gave me metacam to give him for the soreness. i gave it to him around 3:30pm. i was just wondering when it would be okay for me to give him a baby aspirin because he’s still very sore and whimpers when i touch him. thanks so much!!

You should not give Scotty the aspirin or any additional medications. Metacam is an NSAID and so is aspirin. The two can have negative interactions so you can’t mix them. If Scotty tolerates it, try a warm compress (not hot) to the sore area. Also encouraging him to walk around can actually help it to feel better. I hope he feels better quickly! Please feel free to post any additional questions.
