My cat had wound staples 3 months ago. They weren't removed. Is he okay?

Our cat got a large gash on his chest about 3 months ago and our vet cleaned and stapled it. Due to miscommunication between family members and the vet, he was never taken back to have his staples removed. We don’t know if they fell out or if his skin healed over them but no staples are visible or able to be felt under his skin. Will he be ok? Thanks. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered

Without seeing Alfred in person, so I can't say for certain if he will be ok or not. He should definitely be checked by a vet to make sure the staples are not still there because they should not be left in long term. Best of luck.
