My 10-month-old dog has crooked canine teeth. What are my options?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Been advised to get my dogs canine teeth removed as they are growing at an unusual angle. Causing no problems at present however may do in the future. Both sides of her mouth are like this so it will be a big procedure and I am worried about the risks such as causing more damage to her teeth or overall mouth. She is only ten months and I don't want to put her through this unless it is completely necessary.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your dog. I agree that the upper canines have come in at an odd angle. You can also consider seeking a second opinion with a veterinary dentist. This may provide you with other options aside from extraction. There may be more advanced options to correct her mouth. Some dogs can even be fitted with braces similar to people! I hope this information helps.
