My dog was hit by a car. Why is he peeing blood and not eating?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 4 days old | 60 lbs

My dog got hit by a car, he was taken to the emergency vet and they did x rays, checked him out and everything came out fine. We decided to bring him home and monitor him at home. He is peeing blood and is not wanting to move or eats how long until he stops peeing blood and eats and plays normally.

I highly recommend taking Red back to the veterinarian and consider an abdominal ultrasound to evaluate his bladder and kidneys. My concern is there is some type of damage that may have not been able to be seen on xrays. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
