My dog ate a big chunk of fur from his brush. Should I be worried?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 1 month old | 13 lbs

I was combing my dog and I pulled all the hair off the brush like a big chunck of his fur and then he ate it. Is this bad?! I know it can get lodged in his stomach but I felt like this was too much.

If you notice Jax having vomiting, diarrhea, or a decrease in appetite or energy, that could indicate the fur chunk is stuck and he needs veterinary care. If you don't notice that in the next few days, I wouldn't be too concerned, as hopefully it will have passed.
