My Snowshoe Siamese cat won't drink water. Is she stressed or picky?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Snowshoe | Female | spayed | 4 years and 10 months old | 9 lbs

I wanted to give an update to Dr. Melanie if possible. Gambit is now eating and using the litter box properly but we are having to give her water by syringe as she doesn't seem to be wanting to drink much on her own. Thank you for the links you provided. I think alot of her behavior is her being stubborn and stressed out. She is a snowshoe Siamese. Is it possible that her breed has a very picky and prissy personality?

Thank you for providing an update on Gambit! I really appreciate it. I'm glad she is eating and using the litter box, and I would give her canned food with water added to it to make sure she is getting enough water. That way, you don't have to syringe it to her. Cats by nature can get stressed easily, which can lead to health problems. Continue to keep an eye on her, and if you have any concerns, feel free to post here again or take her into the vet. I hope this helps!
