Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old
My cat licked a tiny bit of chocolate icing on Friday evening. He did not show any adverse signs and I assumed the amount was too small to bother him. Yesterday, 4 days later, he vomited up a bit of water/bile in the night/early morning. He seemed himself yesterday and ate normally. But then he did the same this morning, and then also vomited up his breakfast half an hour after eating it. Could it be chocolate poisoning or would it be something else after this long?

Hello. This has nothing to do with the tiny amount of chocolate consumed. There could be a parasite issue, or Mingo might have some stomach sensitivities. If it continues, it is best to have your vet take a look at him at your earliest convenience. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is likely a small enough amount to be toxic. Since he has vomited there is less in his system to absorb. I would monitor for vomiting and diarrhea and seek medical attention if you see tremors or seizures. Good luck and kisses to Diesel!
