My dog has symmetrical belly bumps after shaving. Are they normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 8 years and 8 months old | 18 lbs

My dog recently got shaved and I noticed he seems to have these almost symmetrical bumps on his belly. I never noticed these before, but they look almost like sores. Could anyone explain what this may be and if it is possibly a medical emergency? He didn’t seem to react negatively to them being touched.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Devon. The bumps in the pictures appears to be his nipples. These are completely normal even in male dogs. They were just likely difficult to see before his hair was shaved. As long as they are not enlarging, tender or changing in shape, you do not need to worry. I hope this information helps!
