Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 10 years and 7 months old
Freya just went through a heat. Everything was normal and she exhibited her typical heat traits and activities. Now that her heat is over she has returned to her typical self with nothing out of the ordinary. The last three days she has had a clear, watery, vaginal discharge with no scent. This has not happened before. I can't afford to take her to the vet unless it's an emergency. Please advise whether this is typical or life threatening. Thank You.

This could be normal with nothing to worry about. If the discharge thickens, becomes yellow/green, or even a pink tinged color then I would be concerned about a vaginitis or pyometra. Pyometra could be life threatening if left untreated. If the clear discharge doesn't subside within a few days or if at any point she isn't acting right or stops eating, I would try to figure out a way for her to be seen by a vet. I would just be up front with the vet clinic about your cost concerns so they can be sure to get you an estimate and also come up with a plan that will suit both you and Freya's needs. I hope this helps!
