Why is my senior cat meowing before and after using the litter box?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 15 years and 10 months old

my cat is 16. she cat leg amputated 3 years ago because of a cancer. These days she has been meowing a lot before and after peeing and pooing. There is no meowing during peeing or pooing. She poos very little and solid. We have been to a vet but nothing abnormal diognised. so I dont know what to do. She meows alot and louder so can you show me a way? Ebru

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Pati. She may be battling some mild constipation if she is having small amounts of stool. You can try to increase her water consumption. Some cats prefer running water such as from a faucet for a cat fountain. You can also add warm water to her dry food or offer more canned food. This can help make it easier for a cat to defecate.
