My dog is constipated. Can I give her a child suppository?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 8 months old | 8 lbs

My little dog is constipated very bad. She will not eat ANYTHING when she has to potty even when she feels good. So trying to get her to eat pumpkin is out! Can I give her a child suppository or a piece of one?

Child suppositories are safe to give dogs yes. I do hope that this works! If not then Rosha needs to see your vet to have another type of enema done and possible manual evacuation. I hope that Rosha feels better soon! Best wishes and take care.
