My leopard gecko sleeps constantly. Is this normal or a health issue?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Lizard | Male | 5 months and 12 days old | 4 lbs

My leopard gekco sleeps all day and all night but he will move around sometimes at night but most of the time he is sleeping, is that a good thing or is it something I have to worry about because I need to know if everything is okay with my gekco.

This should be worrisome. Is he still eating/maintaining weight? Check and correct the temperature to provide POTZ (preferred optical temperature zone). If remains lethargic, not eating, a veterinary visit is recommended. Intestinal parasites, kidney disease, gastrointestinal obstructions from ingestion of substrate, are all common problems. Good luck.
