My budgie died from illness. What was wrong? Is my other budgie safe?

Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | unneutered | 1lb

My budgie felix had to be euthanised yesterday because he couldn’t stand up without falling he couldn’t fly his wint and tail feathers were short he molted a lot his beak and legs were crusty and he slept a lot and his vent was blocked a lot and had to be cleaned please help me find what was wrong I’m heart broken but my other budgie is fine he’s not sick and they’ve always lived together?

Thanks for reaching out and am sorry about Felix. Neurologic problems can arise for metabolic disorders (kidneys, liver, pancreas, heart), infectious agents (bacterial, viral, fungal), toxicities: just to name a few. Without a necropsy, it would be impossible to give you a diagnosis. Maybe having the other budgie tested for some infectious diseases, might be appropriate. Good luck.
