Can my dog eat peanut butter, peanuts, or crunchy peanut butter?

OK, what is the vets truth about PEANUT BUTTER? I have always heard NO NUTS! But, yet, peanut butter is OK. Now I just read a recipe for using coconut oil for dogs (which I have read is OK) in a home-made treat calling for CRUNCHY peanut butter. So, please advise me. Peanuts...yea or nay? Peanut butter...yea or nay? CRUNCHY peanut butter...yea or nay? Thank you, Ron (& his fur baby, Chance)

Peanut butter is fine in small amounts. Too much fat causes pancreatitis in dogs. Never give Chance sugar free peanut butter, as it may contain xylitol, which is highly toxic to dogs. As for peanuts, they are fine in small amount, but again they are high in fat. Crunchy peanut butter is fine, small amounts. I hope this helps Ron!
