Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed

My dog Coco is due to have her pups yesterday. She is laying in her bed and won’t get up. She wags her tail happy when I call for her but won’t move. She won’t touch her food or water. And is breathing kinda heavy. should I take her to a vet or let it play out?

Coco may be about to give birth. The link below may help you figure out if Coco is in distress at any point during the process https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951546 If you are concerned at all, or if there is no progression over the next few hours, I recommend having her seen by a vet immediately.
