My cat lost kittens. When can she breed again and is no milk normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 18 days old | 5.7 lbs

Alaska Gave birth 6 days ago they were premature kittens so they all died on the same day. When will she be in heat again? Should I let her mate the next time she is in heat? If not how much should I wait? Is it normal that she didn’t have any milk and will this be a problem for the future?

I'm sorry Alaska lost her kittens! She can go back into heat anytime soon, but I would not let her mate. It's best to allow her to have a cycle or two to have her body heal before mating again. Most cats don't start producing milk until right before the kittens are born or when the kittens start nursing. It shouldn't be a problem for the future. I hope this helps!
