Why does my leopard gecko hide all the time? Is this normal behavior?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Lizard | Male | 5 months and 10 days old | 4 lbs

What does it mean when your leopard gecko hide in its hides everyday and everyday night but he does come out sometimes and moves around and eat. And is it a good or bad thing that he starts in his hides everyday and everynight.

Thanks for reaching out about Blu. It sounds as if he is being secretive or scared. Is he housed alone? Is his terrarium in a high traffic area? If yes to either of these, that situation might have to be corrected. Check environmental temperature in the whole exhibit. Good luck.
