My pet is acting strange. Does she need an emergency vet tonight?

You shouldn’t need to take her in for an emergency visit tonight unless she is acting painful when trying to urinate or unless she is unable to pass any urine at all. I would however try to get her in to your regular veterinarian’s office tomorrow. I would be concerned that she has cystitis and/or possibly a urinary tract infection. I hope this helps. We cannot answer this question for you without knowing what his underlying problem is. Even though he seems back to normal, the behavior he exhibited was extremely abnormal and I don't think you should assume it is nothing just because he seems better now. Whether you want to take him tonight or tomorrow that is up to you; we cannot make that call for you. You know your dog best, if you are worried you should take him to the ER.

However, regardless of what caused these symptoms, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her. She may be dehydrated and in need of fluids, which the veterinarian can evaluate her for. Hello. I'm sorry to hear that Sierra is not feeling well. Yes, the kidney enzymes are run with the regular blood work routinely. If the vet didn't mention them then they were likely within the normal range. My best advise is that if you are worried or scared you should take her into the vet tonight. Maybe they could start her on some medication to calm her down until her appointment with the neurologist on Tuesday. You know your dog best and if that would give you some piece of mind then you should do that. All the activity you are describing is abnormal and I am worried she may go into a cluster of seizures where she is going to have multiple seizures one after another. I hope this helps. It looks as if you posted this question earlier in the night and I apologize that no one has gotten back to you sooner. in terms of what you can do at home when they experience these clinical symptoms, the best thing you can do is just be there to calmly reassure your pet with soothing voices and constant love and petting. Please do not give any kind of over-the-counter medications, supplements, etc. as this may exacerbate the condition. The good news is that your dog is not vomiting which means it’s probably not an emergency situation right now. I do worry, however, that she may have one of the following: urinary tract infection, kidney infection, bladder stones, etc. All of these diseases can cause the clinical symptoms that your dog is experiencing. I urge you to contact the veterinarian in the morning to make an immediate appointment for a full physical examination, urinalysis, and possible urine culture. Thank you very much fo

I think the best thing to do is take her into a vet immediately. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Hello. I can not tell you what to do because I have no idea what is potentially wrong with Mitzy. What I can tell you is the longer you do wait to take her in, the more uncomfortable she might get, & the more expensive it might be to have her treated. Early intervention is generally a lot less expensive than waiting to the last minute & now you have a potential emergency. What I generally tell people is to use there best instinct as to if & when a pet needs to be seen. You know her best, so let your heart guide you. Time will tell with this one. Since she's eating, drinking, and not lethargic, you certainly don't need to seek emergency care tonight.
