My dog ate a toy and pee pad. When should I worry about bloody stool?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Shiba Inu | Female | spayed | 7 months and 5 days old | 25 lbs

My dog is seven months old and just came to us 2 weeks ago. She seemed fine until she ate a piece of toy and one of her pee pads. She now has blood in her stool and I’m wondering if I should take her in. Attached is a picture of her stool. the stool itself is soft and yesterday she had bits of green confetti looking string in her stool, possibly from the pee pad. She has all of her shots and was dewormed. She also came from South Korea’s meat farm.

Oh that is so horrible Luna was on a meat farm! I'm so glad you saved her. Yes, I would take her into a vet now. I'm concerned that the toy could be causing damage to her GI tract leading to the blood in her feces. She should have be checked out asap. I hope this helps.
