Dog recovering from vomiting, still lethargic. Is a vet visit needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 13 days old | 50 lbs

My dog was puking, not eating or drinking & was lethargic for 2 days. He started eating & drinking lastnight and this morning has ate twice (1st time wasn't much but 2nd time I was satisfied) he's also started drinking water. He Is starting to wag his tail and be more awake but is still real tired, but I guess that is to be expected. Is a vet visit still necessary?

Hello, thank you for your question about Roscoe. Since Roscoe has been showing signs of improvement you could continue to monitor him throughout the day to see if his attitude improves. If by tomorrow he is still lethargic, in spite of an improvement in his appetite, I would still recommend having him evaluated by your veterinarian. Hope this helps, good luck!
