Hello. Salmon oil belongs in the category of Omega 3 fatty acids, & while the direct pharmacological action is unknown, omega-3s do have anti-inflammatory properties & have proven useful in a number of conditions, including renal failure. Just follow the label recommendations & hopefully it will prove beneficial to Sooky. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
