Why is my cat's ear sensitive to touch and she's meowing a lot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 12 lbs

We just checked our female cat princess ears. We found this. Should we be concerned ? She is doing alot of meowing and is very sensitive to us touching her ears.

There is a mild amount of discharge but no external signs of inflammation or infection. This discharge could be even considered normal. Ear canal should be ideally inspected inside (with an otoscope by your vet) to make sure there are no infections deeper inside.
