My parakeet's tummy is swollen and she hasn't laid eggs. What's wrong?

I'm not sure if she is pregnant or not but her tummy has grown a lot from last 9 days and if she is pregnant she still haven't laied eggs what should I do??I'm worried about my parakeet cherry. Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Female

Thanks for reaching out about Cherry and including a photo. A swollen abdomen can be an indication of egg binding, fluid accumulation or an enlarged organ. Egg binding for 9 days would be very serious. Veterinary attention is extremely important and a visit needs to be examined as soon as possible. Providing supplemental heat can give some comfort but is not a treatment. Good luck.
