My dog's tail is down and swollen after a bath. Should I see a vet?

Ferdinand’s tail has been down all day yesterday and all day today, which is unlike him. Yesterday he seemed uncomfortable sitting down but today he seems a little better. There’s slight swelling at the base of his tail but I’m not sure what happened to it, all he did yesterday was get a bath. Do you think it will resolve on its own or should I take him to the vet? Poor Ferdinand. If there is a swelling on the base of his tail, I would suspect that this may be the cause of his tail being down and seeming uncomfortable. I would take him into the vet this weekend to get it checked out. Best of luck.
