My 55lb dog ate Carprofen. Should I take her to the vet or watch?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Vizsla | Female | unspayed | 55 lbs

Our dogs got into Carpofen while I was at work. There were 4.5 25mg tabs left. I am pretty sure that our 55 pound got all of the tabs because our puppy wouldn't be able to get up on the counter. The other dog we have is a 13 week old puppy. This happened any where from 4-8 hours ago. Both dogs are acting fine as of now. Should I just continue to watch them or do I need to take them in?

If you are sure that only Bella got into the Carprofen, she should be ok. The amount she took is right around the recommended dose for a dog her size, and it's not a massive overdose. If you think the puppy did get them, you need to take the puppy into a vet right away. I hope this helps!
