Can my senior dog with IBD safely take multiple vitamins and zinc?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Is if safe to give my 13 year old dog a multivitamin/multimineral tablet (for his size/weight) that have zinc, copper, and b-12 in it and also a seperate pill of zinc, copper and b-12? Isnt this too much? He has IBD and acid reflux and has had bronchitis .I home cook his food of haddock and white potatoes. He was taking balanceIt and ended up in the er for what I believe was acid reflux along with a cough. His stomach was soft etc so I dont think it was his IBD.Appetite/eating/poop stood the same

I would recommend you discuss this with your veterinarian that manages his care and his condition. Without knowing a full history, we can't say what he can have. I would not give him additional vitamins no, unless ditected by your veterinarian other wise.
