Why is my cat's tooth area swollen and painful? What's wrong?

Hi, found this swelling next to my cats tooth. It is painful. What could it be? Thank you

Hello, thank you for your question about Figaro. Swelling around the tooth could be due to infection, severe dental disease, or possibly a growth. If the area is painful I would be concerned about an infection or dental disease leading to significant gingivitis. I would recommend having Figaro seen by your veterinarian so that they can examine this swelling and discuss the most likely underlying cause. Hope this helps, good luck!
