My cat's testicles are black and hard two weeks after neutering. Is this normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | neutered

We neutered my 6 month old cat about two weeks ago. His testicals are now black and hard. He seems fine ans is showing no signs of pain. He is eating, playing and using the litter as usual. Is this normal? Thank you in advance for your help.

It could just be scar tissue but I would strongly recommend to have your vet just take a peak at them . Your vet will be able to palpate them to ensure there isn't any infection in that area and ensure he doesn't need any antibiotics. I cannot say for sure if they are okay with just a picture. I hope this helps!
