My Westie has skin problems. Is cetirizine hydrochloride effective?

Hi my white westie has a skin problem and I've been told to give her cetirizine hydrochloride does it help please

This is a medication used as ''anti-allergy''. Its used is symptomatic, meaning that it could help to decrease any type of allergic reaction but it would not help to determine the cause of the allergy and address properly the cause of it. Other medications (for example steroids or Apoquel) might be more useful and effective. More detailed clinical informations would be essential to give you more specific answers about the skin problem affecting Judy and appropriate treatment.
