Hello! My dog has a lump on the corner of his lip. Should I be very worried? It appeared over the day while I was at work. Can I give him Benadryl? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 4 years and 11 months old | 54 lbs

Hives can sometimes form as a part of an allergic reaction however they usually don’t look like a discrete bump and usual there are multiple hives present. It could also be a growth or a papule secondary to an infection. If it seems to grow or isn’t gone in the next couple of days it would be a good idea to have your vet take a look. If it is a hive from a allergic reaction Benadryl could help but I’d also recommend seeing a vet since allergic reactions can get worse quickly and lead to facial swelling. A picture might help if you’re able to take one!
