My cat has IBS and won't eat. Is prednisolone safe with calcium?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 11 years and 7 months old | 11.5 lbs

Trixie has irritable bowel & eats Royal Canin Selected protein rabbit pea for 5+ years.shes not been eating as much.vet did bloodwork & xrays& found nothing wrong. Ive tried the duck flavor& she still was not interested. My vet has prescribed a short trial prednisolone b/c when she was first diagnosed with irritable bowel 5 yrs ago pred was prescribed for decreased appetite & for a short while she had hi levels of Calcium which normalized after pred. Any thoughts on this drug for trixie’s issue?

Prednisone is the drug of choice for irritable bowel syndrome, and it's given for at least two to four weeks. I would try it for Trixie and the vet can do blood tests as needed to check on her calcium levels. I hope this helps.
