My cat has IBS and won't eat. Is prednisolone safe with calcium?

Trixie has irritable bowel & eats Royal Canin Selected protein rabbit pea for 5+ years.shes not been eating as much.vet did bloodwork & xrays& found nothing wrong. Ive tried the duck flavor& she still was not interested. My vet has prescribed a short trial prednisolone b/c when she was first diagnosed with irritable bowel 5 yrs ago pred was prescribed for decreased appetite & for a short while she had hi levels of Calcium which normalized after pred. Any thoughts on this drug for trixie’s issue? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 11 years and 7 months old | 11.5 lbs

Prednisone is the drug of choice for irritable bowel syndrome, and it's given for at least two to four weeks. I would try it for Trixie and the vet can do blood tests as needed to check on her calcium levels. I hope this helps.
