Pet's info: Dog | Cane Corso | Female | spayed | 2 years and 1 month old | 150 lbs
My cane corso recently turned 2- and he has recently started to jump out of his sleep to run to nothing- he sniffs and stares at the floor as if somethings there when nothing is, he does it when he’s awake as well and kind of jumps out of it as if somethings there. I’ve tried patting my hand on the floor to show him nothings there and distracting him which helps but he continues to do it- been about 5 days or so now. Any thoughts???

That is quite strange behavior! Does he act like something is getting his behind? tucking his tail and running away from something. If so, I would have his anal glands checked by your vet. If not, then you may just want to have a thorough exam done to ensure nothing else is hurting or causing him to be so anxious. Your vet will also be able to check his eyes and ears to ensure nothing is throwing his senses off. If all is normal, your vet may recommend an anti-anxiety medicine to help calm him. If this happens mostly at night your vet may recommend only to give it at night. You could also try Benadryl before bedtime but unfortunately, this isn't always strong enough. See link below for dosing. I hope this helps! https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/benadryl/
