Why won't my fish eat bloodworms? Are they picky or need preparation?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have recently found out that bloodworms are a good treat for my aquatic animals even for one that I got today I tried feeding bloodworms and it didn’t seem interested I gave some to my current fish and they weren’t interested either these bloodworms came out of a bottle that you would typically put any fish food in. Am I suppose to prepare them somehow or are they just not interested

There may be a variety of causes for it: - When introducing new food you have not fed to your fish before it is best not to feed them for a day. -You should ideally feed bloodworms only if your fishes are carnivorous or omnivorous -buy good quality ones. - in my experience many fishes do not like frozen and thawed ones.
