Is it safe to combine Propalin and natural supplements for dog urine leaks?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | 7 years and 10 months old

Hi. My vet prescribed Propalin for my dog Cruz for leaking urine. I have him on Thrive Bladder support already (pic attached). 1. Are they safe to use together? 2. Are there any natural remedies I can try instead of Propalin? Thanks!

Anything all natural doesn’t have any drug interactions, so yes they can be given together. Unfortunately there is nothing natural that is proven to help with urinary incontinence in dogs. I would stick with the Propalin if it is working for Cruz and continue the natural supplement if you wish, since it won’t do any harm. I hope that Cruz does well with his medication. Best wishes and take care.

This may be a lifelong medication for Cruz depending on the underlying cause of his incontinence. It is commonly prescribed for dogs for this condition. Side effects may include decreased (or loss of) appetite, restlessness, tremors, increased heart rate, cardiac arrhythmia or high blood pressure. Most dogs tolerate the drug very well.
