My senior dog has a bladder infection. Is Hill's diet really best?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Female | spayed | 10 years and 3 months old | 24 lbs

I used to feed my dog fresh ingredients I'd cooked snd frozen into portions beef sweet potato brown rice broth veggies and she started having accidents peeing on my bed when she slept. She had bladder infection got treated and vet put her on hills senior diet. I'm reading horror stories so I called vet but I'm afraid they might tell me what I want to hear. Is it REALLY better or is it bad? What should I feed her?

Hill’s is great, don’t believe the horror stories. It’s one of the foods I highly recommend. They have veterinary nutritionists on staff to make sure the food is balanced and safe for dogs to eat. I would keep Pepper on this food.
