Why is my puppy vomiting white foam and has pink, irritated paws?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 11 days old | 4 lbs

My 10 week old chihuahua threw up white foam in the middle of the night. His paws are also pink and is always biting them. His skin seems irritated. Could this be because of something he ate or is having an allergic reaction to his food?

The pink paws and the vomiting are probably unrelated. The vomiting is probably from an upset stomach. If it continues, or if Bear stops eating for more than 24 hours, I would be concerned enough to take him to the vet to be checked out. The pink paws are probably due to an allergy, likely something in the air, like pollens. If Bear is itching and licking his paws excessively you may want to take him to your vet to be checked out and placed on an allergy medication.
