Is it normal for my cat's wound lump to remain after drainage?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3.3 lbs

I have a cat about 4 months old. Recently, she developed a lump on her back from a wound she got and we had the vet clean it out yesterday and all the puss came out. She was given an antibiotics and needles to avoid worms. The wound had dried out today, however, the lumps are still there. Is that normal? Is it just d skin takes an extra time to get back to normal after being stretched for awhile or is there more puss developing inside?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Tiffy. I would be concerned that the pus is recurring if the lump has started to grow. She may need surgery to properly drain it. She will need to see her veterinarian again. I hope this information helps!
