My cats ate chocolate whipped cream. Is it dangerous for my cats?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siberian | Female | spayed | 11 lbs

Hi, my cats (Zoe - female, 11 months, 11 lbs) and (Wilshire - male, 11 months, 11 lbs) ate about 2-6 tablespoons of Hershey’s chocolate flavored whipped cream. I don’t know the exact amount they have consumed but they have been acting normal and not showing any symptoms about 2 hours after ingesting. Should I be worried at all?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It is very unlikely that it would cause any concern as the percent of cocoa in the whipped cream is likely very small, and ingesting a small volume, would result in a small amount of cocoa consumed. I recommend that you monitor, any vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, seizures or hyperactivity bring them to a vet right away. Best of luck with Zoe and Wilshire!
