My quail has white poop, isn't eating, and beak shedding. Is she sick?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Chicken | Male | 1 year and 1 month old

My quail. - Poops white and cloudy with a hunt of brown - still walks around and wonders the house like normal. - she would normally jump at anything that looks like food but lately she hasn't been as insterested. - whitening beak that looks like its layers are shedded - She has a mate but they are seperated. Could she be having chicks? Could she be stressed?

Thanks for reaching out about Quaily and including photos. The main worry would be the reduced appetite. The feces being white with little brown is suggestive of more urine and less feces, therefore not eating well. This could be a result of preparing to lay eggs but also could be illness. Usually when they lay eggs, they don't decrease appetite. A veterinary visit is recommended. Good luck.
