Puppy's nose looks bad after crate training. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 30 days old | 22 lbs

We’re trying to crate train her and it’s been well until today when we got home later than normal. I came home and her nose just looks so bad and I felt terrible and I’m not sure of what could’ve caused her to do this because it’s the first time it’s happened

Marley is so cute. She may have injured herself on the crate. I would gently clean the area with warm water and antiseptic soap. Keep the area clean and dry, and monitor it for signs of infection. If you see redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, or pus, then it is infected and she will need to see the vet for antibiotics to treat it. I hope this helps.
