Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | 12 years and 3 months old | 70 lbs
Was after receiving the treatment for whipworm and a mass found on my dogs right hip. He lost 20lbs in 3 weeks, refused to eat and drink. Shaking, barely moving, troubled breathing. He barely made it outside to use the bathroom and just laid down and wouldn't get up. Could not find out what was wrong after 3 trips to the vet. I am still feeling guilty for having him put to sleep. Was relieving him of pain the correct choice?

Please don't beat yourself up over this! Based on what you are saying, Beaux's quality of life was poor, and you made the right choice. You put his interests ahead of yours, and that was a great gift to give him. You let him go without any further suffering, which is a very hard thing to do. Do not question your decision, it was the correct one. I'm sorry you had to make this choice, it's so hard.
